What’s Next for The Midland Hotel?

A new chapter begins for the legendary Midland Hotel

Opened in 1903, The Midland Hotel has been a Manchester icon for decades. After a change of hands earlier this year, there’s plenty more in store for the prestigious hotel.

The Midland Hotel has entered a brand-new chapter after being sold for £115 million. New owners, Swedish hotel investment company Pandox and Leonardo Hotels (part of Fattal Hotels Group), will give the much-loved building a £11 million makeover. Home to 312 bedrooms, Adam Reid at the French, Mr Cooper’s, a spa, gym and 14 conference rooms, the project is one hell of an undertaking that’s set to step up Manchesters luxury hotel offering.

Don’t worry, despite the planned introduction of new branding and a new look, the hotel’s famous name isn’t going anywhere. And rightly so as the hotel has played host to many famous faces and political figures over the years, along with being the focus of Channel 5 documentary ‘Inside Manchesters Midland Hotel’ which gave us a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the day-to-day operation of the huge venue.

Today the Grade II listed building is the venue of choice for countless Manchester celebrations from balls to weddings, as well as the recent Manchester Fashion Festival, and we can’t wait to find out more about this new chapter for the hotel. Watch this space for Midland Hotel updates!
