5,300 square feet of gin making goodness is gracing Manchester’s streets.
It’s safe to say that Manchester is one gin-obsessed city. Following in the footsteps of Three Rivers Gin who opened Manchester’s first city-centre gin distillery in 2015, Manchester Gin is taking it to the next level with their very own distillery.
Manchester Gin is transforming six of the Grade-II listed railway arches beneath Manchester Central. The huge 5,300 foot space will be home to a bar, restaurant and distillery. The new space is set to bring us further into the Manchester Gin experience with a 1,000-litre still giving us a glimpse into the distillation process.
If you’re more into the libation than the distillation, then Manchester Gin’s bar will serve some amazing gin cocktails. Created using their signature, wild spirit and raspberry gin infusions, a drink (or two) at Manchester Gin’s bar is sure to leave you feeling merry.
The arches at Manchester Central had been vacant for some time, but thanks to Manchester Gin they are now being activated. More than just good news for gin-lovers, the space is set to create around 30 new jobs and breathe new life into the convention complex site. Manchester Gin’s distillery promises to be a hit with locals and visitors alike with tours and tastings that are bound to further whet our appetite for gin!
The downside? You’ll have to wait until summer 2019 for the distillery to open, but we reckon it’ll be worth the wait.
