VACANIES

Content Writer

Full-time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic writer with creative flair to help the team produce content for print and digital. Following briefs from the Editor, you will be required to produce short and long form copy for our print magazine and website.

This role would suit a candidate who is keen to write across a range of subjects from travel to business, food and wellbeing. Expect lots of variety in this role; one day you may be interviewing a famous actor, the next you may be writing the success story of a local business. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt their tone and style to the needs of each piece of content in line with AMAGAZINE’s established style. 

Responsibilities
  • Writing business and lifestyle content for print and digital
  • Working with the Editor to produce proposals for clients
  • Working closely with clients to produce content that suits their requirements as well as AMAGAZINE’s audience
  • Attendance of press events outside of usual working hours is required
Skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Impeccable grammar
  • Natural creative flair
  • Attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm
  • Can-do attitude 
  • Knowledge of WordPress preferred
Qualifications
  • Degree in English Literature, Journalism or similar
  • Previous published writing experience in a similar field is preferred

 

 

Social Media Executive

Part-time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic social media executive with creative flair to manage our social media accounts. Following briefs from the Editor, you will be required to create and schedule posts across our social media platforms.

This role would suit a candidate who is not just social media savvy, but also a creative thinker with a strong understanding of the nuances of each social media platform. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt their style and tone appropriately for each platform in line with AMAGAZINE’s established voice. They will also use their initiative to produce creative posts and find new ways to reach our audience on social media.

Responsibilities
  • Using Hootsuite to schedule posts across AMAGAZINE social media platforms
  • Formatting images for social media in Photoshop
  • Attendance of press events outside of usual working hours may be required
Skills
  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms – Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Good understanding of Hootsuite
  • Good understanding of SEO
  • Good knowledge of Photoshop
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Creative flair
  • Attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm
  • Can-do attitude 
Qualifications
  • Degree in English Literature, Journalism or similar
  • Previous experience in a similar role

 

 

Intern

Part-time

We’re looking for an enthusiastic candidate with creative flair to assist the team in producing content for print and digital. This role would suit a candidate who is working towards a career in journalism or a similar field. You must be able to commit one weekday to this role.

The ideal candidate must be able to write across a range of subjects from travel to business, food and wellbeing. They will be able to adapt their tone and style to the needs of each piece of content in line with AMAGAZINE’s established style. Expect lots of variety in this role; one day you may be researching restaurant offers, the next you may be writing about a new property development in Manchester.

Responsibilities
  • Writing business and lifestyle content for print and digital
  • Providing detailed research to senior writers
  • Supporting the team in distributing the magazine
  • Assisting in the organisation of AMAGAZINE events
  • Attendance of press events outside of usual working hours may be required
Skills
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Excellent command of the English language
  • Knowledge of WordPress preferred
  • Creative flair
  • Attention to detail
  • Enthusiasm
  • Can-do attitude 
Qualifications
  • Must have (or be working towards) a degree in English Literature, Journalism or similar
  • Previous published writing experience is preferred
