Kerry Saxon an international fashion stylist
“Manchester is my home and my creative hub and I think any creatives living/working here really make this city what it is and continuously add to the street art, music and culture that Manchester celebrates.”
What’s your most significant accomplishment to date?
I’m lucky enough to work on a variety of amazing jobs from fashion campaigns to tv commercials and each one is very different – which for me is great because every job gives me the chance to mix up my styling and designing. This year I took myself to Cape Town and became part of the most amazing freelance girl crew shooting fashion and swimwear campaigns, which we will be continuing throughout Europe this summer so I would have to say that this has been my favourite experience of my career so far.
What inspires you?
I tend to take inspiration from the people around me and the places I have been. To be honest, I don’t follow fashion shows or trends or other stylists – I’ve always been more of a music and people person and living in Manchester has led me to meet some of the most talented creative young people. I recently designed a film for my good friend and director Charlie Watts and it was amazing to explore the youth culture of today and play this out in each character.
What impact does living and working in Manchester have on your work?
Manchester is my home and my creative hub and I think any creatives living/working here really make this city what it is and continuously add to the street art, music and culture that Manchester celebrates. There are so many brands now that all come from the streets here and the music is really pushing through; in the last year, I’ve seen so many friends grow and thrive in the industry that still loves where they’ve come from. It’s something really special to be a part of.
What advice would you give to your 16-year-old self?
Probably to travel more as I can be quite restricted now working freelance. I probably would have invested my time in people a little better too.

What are your business goals for 2018?
So, last year we launched Wrapp – a styling agency covering mainly Manchester and London – supplying fashion brands and production companies with the highest quality stylists. This year we are taking the business globally and we have a number of exciting expansion routes that are currently in process to boost the brand. This is something we are heavily involved in personally and I’ve invested so much time into. The goal list is continuously growing!
Where do you see yourself in twenty years’ time?
I’d like to say retired in the sun but I’m a workaholic so I will probably still be hectic shopping, on set styling and running the businesses.
