Manchester’s ‘Bee in the City’ sculptures have finally landed and they are un-bee-lievable.

Manchester’s ‘Bee in the City’ sculptures have finally landed and they are un-bee-lievable.

Over 100 bee sculptures have swarmed the streets of Manchester and created a buzz. Everyone is on the lookout to find each and every unique design.

The art trail, organised by global public art producer Wild in Art in partnership with Manchester City Council, is hiding the bees in Manchester’s cultural gems across the city and beyond for just nine weeks.

Some of the iconic Mancunian designs include:

There’s even a Bee Live in MCR signed by a bunch of A-listers, including the Rolling Stones, Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift.

Each bee has nested in Manchester’s most famous places which include Albert Square, St Peter’s Square, Piccadilly Gardens, Spinningfields, and the Northern Quarter. The bees even stretch further beyond by the Quays in Salford.

Further afield will be a ‘Little Bee Trail’ designed by children from 121 schools and youth groups which are already on display in places such as Manchester Cathedral, the National Football Museum and The Royal Exchange Theatre.

After the nine-week trail, the big bee sculptures will be auctioned to raise funds for The Lord Mayor of Manchester’s charity ‘We Love MCR Charity‘ to improve the lives and life chances of Manchester people.

In the meantime, don’t forget to download the ‘Bee in the City’ app from the App Store and Google Play, which unlocks offers and rewards at many of the bee locations.
