A-Guide to Manchester Food & Drink Festival 2018
The free, foodie festival returns to celebrate Manchester’s ever-growing food and drink scene.
Celebrating its 21st birthday with a bang, MFDF 2018 brings together Manchester’s much-loved restaurants and bars to tempt our palettes from September 27 to October 7, with the likes of Bundobust, Beastro, Cottonopolis and many more A-favourites feeding the city.
It’s not just about tucking into some great grub (although there’s going to be glorious amounts of that), Manchester is also set to enjoy live cookery demos, masterclasses and live music at MFDF too.
The festival’s hub in Albert Square will be filled with food stalls from Tampopo’s pan-Asian dishes and Cottonopolis’ Japanese street food, to Vive Le Crepe’s mouth-watering sugary treats and Vin Van Voom’s must-try wines.
Immerse yourself in some of your favourite tipples with these experiences like no other. Put your palette and wine knowledge to the test with Campo Viejo Light, shake up a storm with Kahlúa and master making the perfect Espresso Martini, or blend your very own bottle of whisky with Chivas Regal at The Loft on Quay Street.
Find out cookery tips and tricks from Masterchef winner Simon Wood of First Street’s famous WOOD restaurant. His live cookery theatre seeks to teach us all how we can master the secrets of fine-dining in our very own homes.
Let loose and dance the day away at the CityLife music stage, hosting some of Manchester’s hottest bands. Headliners ‘The Slow Readers Club’ will take centre stage at the festival on October 4th along with Manc bands, Covertones, Corella and Hayes Sisters.
For the Kids
Head to the Family Dome for lots of fun with your little ones from music workshops to an indie disco with Manchester legend Clint Boon. Enjoy all the excitement of a rave but without the headache afterwards at Moring Gloryville’s free sober dance party on 30th September.
Entry to Manchester Food & Drink Festival is free and be sure to make the most of special offers across Manchester’s restaurants and bars throughout the event.
